Repair & renew.
Roofing, exterior improvements, and the work that keeps a home performing as it should. Careful attention to what’s already there.
We’re marra. A father-and-son practice bringing building experience and a designer’s eye to the places people call home.
Tell us what you’re thinking
A roof that needs attention. A house that no longer fits. An idea for something entirely new. We’re interested in the whole picture—and the practical work it takes to get there.
Our roots are in roofing. Our next chapter reaches further: residential improvements, renovations, additions, and an ambition to develop thoughtful homes and ADUs. We’re building that chapter deliberately.
Roofing, exterior improvements, and the work that keeps a home performing as it should. Careful attention to what’s already there.
Interior improvements, kitchens, bathrooms, and whole-home renovations. Making existing spaces work better for the people living in them.
Exploring additions, ADUs, and new residential projects. We start with the property, the brief, and a clear conversation about what’s possible.
Early ideas, drawings, material studies, and fabrication. Design thinking that stays close to how things are actually made.
A look at the houses, details, and conditions around our work. This is where we’re starting. There’s more to come.
Marra began with a father and son, and a roofing business built together.
One brings more than 25 years of building experience, beginning with roofing in Southern California. The other brings a Master of Architecture from Columbia University GSAPP, and a curiosity about how we might live differently.
We’re growing the practice where those perspectives meet. Practical knowledge. Fresh questions. An appetite to take on more ambitious work without losing the directness of a family business.
A small team, building something of its own.
A few photos, an address, a problem, or an idea. Tell us what you want to change and what matters most to you.
We discuss the existing conditions, scope, priorities, and budget. For larger ideas, that can mean identifying what needs further design, investigation, or specialist input.
An estimate, a defined scope, or a plan for developing the idea further. The aim is a useful next step, with clear expectations.
Yes. Repairs and focused improvements are part of the practice, alongside our larger residential ambitions. Send us the details and we’ll discuss whether the project is a good fit.
Absolutely. We’re interested in developing this side of the business. Start by sharing your property and your goals. We can discuss the design work, local requirements, and project team that may be needed.
Our current focus is the Salt Lake Valley and Boise, Idaho. The work we can undertake depends on the project location, scope, and applicable licensing requirements.
Marra holds a Utah roofing license and an Idaho general contractor registration, and carries general liability and workers’ compensation insurance. Contact us to confirm the credentials and coverage applicable to your project.
Your location, a short description, a few photographs, and any timing or budget you already have in mind. Early questions are welcome.
